I know what you are thinking if you have got this far in reading my article. This is the time of year when heaps of financial experts tell you what you should have done, how bad you are for not doing it, and what you have got to do in 2022 to get back on track.
Well I think if you survived 2021 in good health, continued to enjoy a steady income, maintained your relationships, and managed to stay sane during all the COVID-19 lockdowns, that’s a big tick in my book.
So instead of finger pointing and nagging you to do something that you haven’t done, my suggestion is just enjoy the Christmas and holiday break. We need this time to relax, spend time with loved ones and take the opportunity to recharge our batteries.
One of my favourite pastimes is listening to music. I have a love-hate relationship with Spotify but it is very useful to make playlists. One playlist that I create for each new year features songs that capture what I was into during the past 12 months. Generally it features my favourite new tracks and artists, along with some old classics that have been with me all my life.
So, I thought I would share this year’s playlist with you. It includes some bangers for the summer, which might just introduce to you something that isn’t throwaway pop. I hope they will also make you smile a little and, perhaps, get you thinking about your own financial wellbeing at the same time.
Sorry I couldn’t help myself, I had to write something around the topic, so you might as well
play the list and see if it inspires you to do anything differently in 2022. Who knows, it could make a huge difference before you head off to that Spirit in the Sky.
So here goes:
Side One (for your financial wellbeing)
Side 2 (food for the soul)
